Barren County Healthy Kids Clinic Featured in America’s Healthiest Schools Recognition

CFMC is proud to partner with twenty-three school districts across Kentucky to offer a Healthy Kids Clinic school-based healthcare program to students and staff. On-site services include acute care visits, well child visits, physicals, immunizations, and more. Behavioral health and dental services are offered in select districts.
Nine Barren County Schools were recently named America’s Heathiest Schools by the Alliance for a Healthier Generation. The annual recognition program honors schools for their achievements in advancing the physical, mental, and social-emotional health of students, staff, and families. Congratulations to Austin Tracy Elementary, Eastern Elementary, Hiseville Elementary, Park City Elementary, Red Cross Elementary, North Jackson Elementary, Temple Hill Elementary, Barren County Middle School, and Barren County High School for receiving this distinction!
Barren County Healthy Kids Clinics offer medical, dental, and behavioral health services at ten clinic locations throughout the school district. Providers include Amy Rutledge, APRN; Jessica Miller, DPN; Cassie Jessie, APRN; Dawn Allen, DMD; Tonda Helton, DMD; Summer Watson, LPCC; Ivan Jines, LPCC; Jenna Shipley, LPCC; Kayla LaMure, LCSW; Elizabeth Hurt, LMFT; Keisha Whitis, CSW; Amy Hogue, LPCC; Megan Zipf, LPCC; Rebecca Forbis, BA, Targeted Case Manager; Logan Blackmon, BIS, Targeted Case Manager along with school nursing staff.
"Since the partnership began with Healthy Kids Clinic, students and staff at Barren County Schools have benefited from quality nursing and mental health services. The nurses and therapists are always available to answer questions, assess students' and staff health care needs, as well as provide individual therapy sessions. During COVID, their services were also invaluable in providing immunizations as well as testing for the virus. Barren County Schools has benefited from partnering with Healthy Kids Clinic," stated Cynthia York, Director of Special Programs.
