1/30/2024
Family Medical Centers recently celebrated their first Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Program graduates with a pinning ceremony. Graduates from the program include Savannah Barnett, CMA; Tamara Harris, CMA; and Savannah Dial, CMA. The graduates will be joining various Family Medical Center locations.
"The CMA program has been a wonderful experience. It has helped me grow as not only a person, but in my medical career. I will forever be grateful for the opportunity,” stated Savanah Barnett, CMA.
Savannah Dial, CMA, continued, “My experience in the CMA course through CMFC was nothing short of a blessing. I want to thank everyone who helped me and encouraged me through the program!”
"My experience doing the CMA course through CFMC was fantastic. Everyone was so supportive and helpful and I’m so thankful for them and their kind words of encouragement. I’m so excited to see where this new journey leads me,” stated Tamara Harris, CMA.
The certified medical assistant (CMA) program provides formal online didactic sessions coupled with on-the-job training alongside CFMC clinical staff and on-site phlebotomists. Knowledge is gained on obtaining vital signs, medication administration, assisting with in-office procedures, phlebotomy, and many other clinical and administrative skills. In the state of Kentucky medical assistants do not have to be certified. However, certification validates the knowledge and skills which have been mastered throughout the program.
We are proud of the hard work and commitment demonstrated by those in the CMA program. In addition to the three individuals which completed the program, we have fifteen others currently enrolled, and others are anticipated to start soon.
“At CFMC, we are so grateful to help employees reach their career goals. Sharing knowledge and encouraging each other is what makes CFMC such a great place to work,” stated Tiffany McMinoway, DNP, APRN, Assistant Medical Director.
